...about the time when Babar invaded India there lived in Punjab a holy man, a great saint, Guru Nanak. He was born in 1469 and was the first of the ten Sikh gurus and the founder of Sikh religion. As a child he was so precocious and different from other childrens that the people said that they had never seen such a child. At school he learnt things so fast that the teacher thought he was a genius and would be grow up to be a great man.The Guru lived at the village of Kartapur till his death in 1539. His follwers came to be known as Sikhs. Guru Nanak´s teachings are written down in a book called the Adi Granth, which is the Holy Book of the Sikhs. ..
